Alexander McQueen A/W 2009 'Horn of Plenty' Runway Jacket, Look #35, US 6 IT42. The 'Horn of Plenty' collection was a McQueen
retrospective: models wore fantastical, outrageous outfits and teetered on
impossible platform heels; in their hair were spray-painted Coke cans, upturned
umbrellas. They walked through a set that looked like a rubbish dump, including
tires, TVs and, yes, a kitchen sink. “Exceptional,” wrote the critic from the
New York Times in his review. “A slap in the face to his industry.” One
magazine editor dismissed it as “a collection inspired by Wall-E,” but mostly
they were dazzled. “That was the kind of show that puts your faith back in
fashion,” said Miranda Almond, Vogue’s fashion editor.
This listing is for a McQueen runway leather jacket - Look #35 - from the A/W 2009
'Horn of Plenty' collection. Vogue's Sarah Mower made mention of this jacket in her runway show editorial, saying "For McQueen's faithful, there were also fiercely tailored coats, nipped
in the waist and picking up on biker quilted leather and big-shouldered
silhouettes".
